 Box 2 is Route 1's BIPOC centered, commercial level farming operation.  On both urban and rural farms, our goal is grow nutrient dense, regeneratively grown, culturally relevant food and deliver it to the families and communities who need it most.  Through Box 2, Route 1 is specifically able to narrow it's focus to specialty crops that are not only good for the body, but also good for the Soul.  We aim to grow food in a way that mitigates the depletion of natural resources, reduces our carbon footprint, and increases health equity for all. 

The Route 1 Pathways Portal is the most powerful tool in the Route 1 food access toolbox. This 2-way, e-commerce platform will have real time capabilities and give Route 1 Emerging Farmers the ability to log in, place their goods online and then give the opportunity for families, chefs, restaurateurs, caterers and others to go in and buy the product. Farm to Fork. More accessible. More equitable. More inclusive.

Growing healthy, nutritious food is only a small portion of the challenge that emerging farmers face. Route 1 is working to provide technical assistance services for farmers to help them coordinate and get their specialty crops to the marketplace.
