On our urban and rural farms, Route 1's BIPOC-centered, commercial-level farming operations grow nutrient dense, regeneratively grown, culturally relevant food and deliver it to the families and communities who need it most. 

Preparing crops for market and access to transportation is another major hurdle and expense for small farmers. Route 1 is working to provide technical assistance services for farmers to help them coordinate and bring their specialty crops to the marketplace.

Access to markets is a significant hurdle for small farmers in general, and farmers of color in particular. Route 1 helps farmers overcome this challenge through multi-tiered partnerships across the community.

The Route 1 Pathways Portal is a real-time, two-way
e-commerce platform that provides families, chefs, restaurateurs, caterers, and consumers the opportunity to order farm-to-fork products directly from Route 1 farmers.
